In love with a gemini moon

I am a sagitarus and am in love with a gemini moon, leo sun sign woman. She fascinates me in every way, she was the one who came on to me and has been very affectionate and positive until one day she said that she needs to go and see if she still has feelings for her ex.....and that we need to just be friends and that's it. My question is: what the heck do I do with my feelings.....I don't want to play games with her like stop talking to her so she'll miss me and then want to talk, but I am afraid that I became to easy to read, or too boring for her and she just left for more variety, what is my next step, I am so lost.

so, mercury retro again...

So, here we are about to enter a mercury retrograde in Gemini. This being my moonsign, like all of you, I've been feeling a lot of emotional waves building up for the past week. This timing not only totally coincides with the anniversary of great upheaval in my life (this time last year), but my little boy's birthday just happened too. The retrograde begins monday evening, and lasts through the 19th of June.
I (wisely) decided to postpone a huge event that I was spearheading, and am looking at completing projects I have been putting off...that is, going back over that which I have been procrastinating on. Setting up my work space better, reorganizing...and re-assessing where I'm at with intimate relationships and whether or not they are in service to my true being. Taking a look at how I communicate and whether my message represents my heart's desire. Seems a sane way for me, a Goat-Lion mama, to keep myself from going bonkers with the overwhelm. And when the shit hits the fan and the phone acts weird, I will try to laugh and breathe.

I'm curious what other gem-moon-peep's take on this may be. Before you groan "Oh noooo" like I did this morning, maybe do a little reading on how we can all use this time of "rest" to assist us on our paths.

Here's something I like from the Aquarius Papers site:

"… retrograde periods offer us a chance to slow down certain parts of our life for closer examination, preparing for a change that inevitably occurs. This is part of a larger cyclic process of unfoldment when the planet speeds up again in forward motion. Life always speeds up again after a time of reflection, contemplation, and transitional change. One of the benefits of Mercury retrograde is that it provides the time for reflection, which can lead to revitalization after a symbolic fallow period….Periods of reflection, meditation, and contemplation allow us to take a needed break from routine or inertia. Retrogrades are the natural time to do this. When we turn inward, our Soul connection assists our growth by allowing us to focus on that which we would not address if we were preoccupied with mundane affairs….

When a planet goes retrograde, the areas of life that it symbolizes need to be re-examined. It is metaphorically an in-breathing or dreaming, a retracing and reexamining of steps already traversed, digesting and assimilating previous experience…. This is a time when we can examine the effect that our personal subconscious and the Collective Unconscious has upon us…

While it seems as though Mercury retrograde causes many things to malfunction and brings miscommunications and delays in its wake, actually no planet or its influence is good or bad unto itself. We are the ones who determine our "destiny," based on our choices, which shape our character. In that sense, "character is destiny," and so we have the responsibility to determine whether we will be active or passive in responding to life’s challenges. We have free will and no planet or star "makes" anything happen. They merely indicate the larger patterns we live within, and so by understanding these patterns and what they symbolize, we are in a position to be in harmony or disharmony with inner and outer "reality." This is the power of our individuality to rise above inertia, superstition, and belief systems that are obsolete, inadequate, or fear-based."

question for those with a Gemini moon

Hi, I don't have a gemini moon but I joined this tribe briefly to get the perspective of those who do on a prospective relationship of mine.

I know this girl who is a cusp born Aries/Taurus with a Gemini moon, Cancer rising. She also has a Venus in Gemini. Now, I have heard and it seems to be true with the gemini influenced people I've met, that geminis are fickle when it comes to relationships and rarely want commitment. Is this true? I connect very well with this said girl and I'm afraid I'm falling in love with her. She doesnt seem to exhibit fickleness too much, however, she is highly inexperienced (only had one boyfriend before, is still a virgin at 19, etc.).

I am a Pisces with a Scorpio Rising and Libra Moon. I have a very high need for commitment and monogamy. I don't mind others who don't but personally I can't be in a relationship with flighty women, it just takes too much toll on my emotional and psychological well being. So, I want to know, am I setting myself up for a fall? or is there potential?

Thanx for any imput,
Love and rationalising - a gemini perspective.

It's late at night, and I'm thinking a lot, so here goes...

I realise that when it comes to meeting girls, so far, my first reaction when I meet someone that I instantly like
is to rationalize what I think is good about them, what I think attracts me to them. I coat them with this glow of
sweetness that I then play in my mind. This person then becomes an attraction that I long for. In my mind, I am
constantly seeking reassurances that I like this person because of qualities that I might be fantasizing about in
a person. So many times, it has turned out, this person is totally not what I thought she is. To be true to myself
I also set to myself that I have to somehow get to conquer this person's heart. It's all an unconscious process. I
think she could be that one person, but in all fairness, I have to agree in the end that it was just infatuation.
Which then takes me to the point where I think to myself that I get bored - again rationalising. It turns out I am
really bored because this person did not fulfil what we thought of them initially - wrongly.

So, the bottomline is, this sucks! How do I eventually meet someone that I could end up liking forever if instead
of how I have gone about things so far, I tell myself I don't want to hurt her. I have done that before, but once
again it was probably a piece of rationalizing - she probably did n't do enough to grab my interest and I just
moved on. Our psyche and society's pressures and conditioning too often bring us to set well-defined criteria
about what a partner should be - common interests, background, etc... But so far, I have not met someone
with a passion for something that is a total stranger to me - that something that is. Now, that could be a
powerful attraction to me I think. To somehow get into someone's else's passion instead of the other way round...

It was probably some random, egotistic rambling from a bored gemini who is busy rationalising matters of the
heart right now. If you feel like contributing some ranting, please feel free to do so, especially if you have been
either in my shoes, or at the receiving end of a gemini like me...

Cheers..

This has to be the hardest thing for me to learn balance with in regards to my 12th house Gemini Moon.

Sometimes, I wish it was just one way or the other, but I exist in a kind of shifting middle ground.

Even my need to be social and then my need to be in absolute solitude. I have to articulate my feelings to other people who don't understand that it CAN be this way *right now* and some other way later and you won't think it's infuriating or anything -- it makes sense. It's called "changing your mind"....

Anyone else 1) get what I am talking about and 2) have survival techniques? *grins*

Perhaps it is the Sun moving through Gemini, highlighting my Gemini moon in the 12th and my rising, chilling out in my first house, but right now, I have a strong need to completely split off from the life I have been living... from all the things I thought were certain which are now revealing how NOT certain. Some of my old friendships I thought were strong don't feel so strong anymore and I...

"your enemies cannot harm you, but watch your closest friends"

I need something different.
And better
and people who think first
instead of seventh.

Anyone else experiencing serious shifts of consciousness right now?
Our max budget is $1400/month. RR or box apt either ok. Nice, safe neighborhood is negotiable depending on price. Any tips or leads would be greatly appreciated as we only have a week left to find where to live.

Thanks!!!!!!!!
J

Idealizing the Other

I recently bought Sex Signs by Judith Bennet. Though the book is written to address women, I find many of the insights apply to both sexes.

One passage in the Gemini section painfully caught my eye:

"After she ends a relationship, she often idealizes the man she has left. She will build elaborate fantasies around him and obviously expect her next man to live up to them"

(sigh)

So, what does one do?

My next man has some mighty big shoes to fill.

I won't call it insomnia because it's like... the body is tired but the mind holds the body in sway and you are awake as long as you can think and soon it is 6 in the morning and then you wake up thinking all shorts of shit you aren't really totally aware of because you stopped listening to the constant conversation....

I haven't been sleeping a lot lately. I haven't been sleepy and I have been around people more than I can be at this juncture. Oh blah, right? Blah.

So, I am curious, are there other Gemini moons (nervous energy kinda amasses in it) out there with so much energy they find it hard to sleep... like me?

It makes me wonder if this new-found energy doesn't come from transiting Mars moving through Gemini (too easy, right?), but I would love to hear any ideas. I am SO waiting to crash.

I have really huge pupils most of the time, even in sunlight. So huge the eye doctor doesn't even have to dialate them durring an exam. I have heard that it is a physical trait of Gem in I moons. So does anyone else have this problem? I am calling it a problem because I now have early onset Macular Degeneration and I'm only 27; Dr's link it to the pupil dialation.

Sun moves into Gemini, new moon May 26

As the sun moves into Gemini on Sat. May 20, 9:31 pm Pacific Daylight Time,
so follows the new moon in Gemini on Fri. May 26 at 10:26 PDT.

All of us with Gem in our charts should feel the energy around this time.

from the 2006 We'Moon journal:

While the sun traverses Gemini, our power comes from our networks, diversity and sisterhood.
Gemini stimulates our ability to find sense, humor, and poetry in the everyday world.
We seach for the fresh breath of inspiration.

The Gemini moon reminds us of the sacredness of communication and adds electricity to nerves and thoughts. Under the Gemini moon we weave our networks as we talk, listen, juggle tasks and cross-pollinate ideas. But keep it short and to the point, we bore easily.

The soul born with the moon in Gemini is here to grow understanding, to translate ideas, cultures, opinions, to explore new horizons, though she may need to learn stillness and the value of solitude.

Hi Everyone!

I came across a good read called, "Moon Signs in Love." The Gemini Moon description is oh-so-true. If you'd like to take a look here's the website:

http://groups.msn.com/AstroZombies/moonsignsinlove.msnw

Hope you enjoy! We Lunar Geminis are quite an artistic and wondrous, if not at times confusing tribe. I love that! We keep things interesting. By the way, I'm new here and I'm a Capricorn with my moon in Gemini, of course, and Libra rising.
this is your solar low of the year,
the sun being in your opposite sign of Sagitarrius,

Nervous, witty and changeable, you thrive on communication and the cut and thrust of the social world. Boredom is something you will not tolerate, and a changing lifestyle suits you fine. Sometimes you are up and sometimes you are down, but wherever you are you won't be there long. The spoken word is your main means of relating and you are able to come up with the perfect put-down as well as impress others with your cleverness and wit. Working in media and travel is perfect for you, as well as sales. You could push yourself too hard and feel exhausted when you have overdone the partying, But after a brief respite, you are ready to go headlong into the world again. You are unlikely to be happy with your own company for very long.

Incessant restlessness

I got this off the web, to describe our crazy lunar side!

You have a feeling of incessant restlessness. You feel the urge to move on, thinking that there is always something new and exciting over the next hill or that the grass is greener in the next location. What actually lures you on is the feeling that the next piece of information to be gained and shared with others is to be found in the next town. Thus, the urge for continual movement from person to person continues.

You are constantly seeking new mental stimulation and may have a difficult time settling down with one person in a family relationship. An internal restlessness drives you on with the lure that the best relationship is just over the next hill. This idea can lead to a feeling of dissatisfaction in whatever relationship you are in, no matter how idyllic or healthy it may be for you.

You are learning to relax, to deepen your mental connection with those in your immediate environment so that the stimulation you seek can be satisfied at deeper, more profound levels. You are learning to exchange a quantity of ideas for the quality of a deep rapport by integrating the dimension of feeling into your arena of mental exchange. In this way your desires for constant communication take on a new dimension of satisfaction and fulfilment.

In order to develop deep mental connections with others, you are learning that you must first develop a connection with your own spiritual, intuitive processes. Once in touch with your intuition, you will have access to the information you need, when you need it, without the restless feeling that you continually need more information in order to feel secure. Then you can share ideas with others with a feeling of ease based on the joy of exchanging those energies that release both people into truth.

Hello! I wanted to let you all know that the Waxing Half Moon is in Gemini Thursday March 17, 11:19 am PST.
Waxing means increasing towards full.
Lets all reflect on what we'd like to see blossom into abundance in our lives. Happy moon gazing!

It pertains to the sun sign. But I wonder how much of it is true for our moon?

GEMINI LOVE PROFILE:

YOUR POSITIVE TRAITS:

Your lively, outgoing attitude attracts people to you everywhere you go.
You can talk your way into - and out of - any situation you desire.
You're adaptable enough to flirt with anyone - and people tend to fight over you.

YOUR NEGATIVE TRAITS:

You get easily bored in relationships, and tend to jump from person to person.
You tend to be a bit of a player - and have a high tolerance for drama in relationships.
Not the most emphathetic person, you tend to tell lovers to "get over" their problems.

YOUR IDEAL PARTNER:

Is intelligent and quick witted enough to keep you interested.
Is a bit of a shape shifter, providing you with the variety you crave.
An open minded person, who's willling to have a non-traditional relationship.

YOUR DATING STYLE:

Exciting. If your date shows you a new experience (like Egyptian food or scuba diving), you're very happy.

YOUR SEDUCTION STYLE:

Experimental: it's rare that you try the same thing twice.
Ultra kinky - you do stuff that's not even in books yet.
Hot and cold... sometimes you're just not into the whole sex thing.

TIPS FOR THE FUTURE:

Settle down a little. Sometimes good things come with time - so don't let people go so fast.
Acknowledge that you're a player and flirt. If your mate can't live with this, find someone who can.
Give your partner a little more attention. You don't have to be a social butterfly all the time.

My my, how the Gemini twins love to take two sides and see the pros and cons of both, thereby never making a decision!

I'm in the middle of a major life decision (whether to move out of the city or not) and it's quite a struggle with a boyfriend who is gemini rising! We both want to, yet want to stay also.

Any comments or suggestions to help with the twins influence?! Am I alone here in feeling indecisive?

Overthinking

i just found this article on overthinking. it's exactly what i do. i've heard it has to do with my gemini moon. don't know if you all have the same experinece. the article is mostly about women, so i don't know if it applies to guys too, you tell me? (it's also kinda cheesey, but none the less interesting)
i'll copy the article into this post and put the link too. :)

http://women.msn.com/809974.armx

The Overthinking Trap

Veronica, a 27-year-old stay-at-home mom, adores her toddler twins and thrives on her full slate of charity work and community activities. To her friends, she seems perfectly fulfilled, and indeed, she has plenty of reasons to be content and confident. But not infrequently, in those moments when she isn't teaching her kids to swim, meeting for a fund-raiser, or otherwise busy, the voice of a reverse cheerleader starts in her head. Before she knows it, she's knee-deep in a muck of negativity.

What's wrong with me that I never feel completely satisfied with what I'm doing? she frets. I just keep agreeing to more committees and activities. I don't know, maybe I've made the wrong choices in my life. I say I like being a stay-at-home mom, but do I really?

From there, the anxieties come fast and furious: I'll never get rid of the pregnancy weight. I'm 15 pounds too fat right now, and it will only get worse with age. What if Rick meets some pretty, thin young thing at work and gets sick of me? How would I ever get a good job again? I never liked the job I had before having the children, and my boss never liked me.

Women like Veronica find they can ruminate about anything and everything: appearance, marriage, career, health. They often feel this kind of fretting is just a function of being female, part and parcel of our caring natures.

But I have found it's much more complex than that, and much more insidious. As a professor of psychology at the University of Michigan, I've spent 20 years researching the phenomenon I've come to call overthinking -- getting trapped in torrents of negative emotions. This kind of morbid meditation rarely leads to solutions to everyday problems, but it does hinder a woman's ability to lead a satisfying life.

Overthinking is not just middle-of-the-night tossing and turning, though it often does get louder when the house is finally quiet. It can overwhelm women anytime, such as when they're driving to work or cooking dinner. One can overthink a boss's curt e-mail, a child's bad grade, or a husband's lackluster gift.

Of course, concerns having to do with jobs, kids, and husbands are at the heart of our well-being. How can we avoid pondering them? We can't, but overthinking involves taking these ruminations to extremes that interfere with our capacity to make good decisions. Sometimes it can drive friends and family members away and even wreck our emotional health. Women are twice as likely as men to become severely depressed, and our tendency to overthink appears to be one of the reasons.

It doesn't have to be this way, however. We can rise above our oversensitivity and learn to recognize the emotions that trigger these thoughts so we can express them appropriately. We can maintain serenity in times of conflict, confusion, chaos, even tragedy. We can be the directors of our own emotional lives.

An Unhealthy Cycle

When you overthink, you go over and over your negative thoughts and feelings, examining them, questioning them, kneading them like dough. An overthinker, recollecting a recent conflict with a friend, for example, may find herself replaying the scene in her mind. How could she have said that to me? How should I react?

A healthy person should be able to answer these questions quickly -- she was in a lousy mood, so I'll just blow it off -- and then move on. But for an overthinker, these questions lead to more questions -- what I call the yeast effect. Just as yeasty bread dough will double in size after it's been kneaded, our negative thoughts grow and grow, eventually filling the brain to capacity. What if I can't confront her? an overthinker wonders. Why didn't my parents teach me how to handle anger? And on and on it goes.

Overthinkers are terrific worriers, but they go further. Much of overthinking is focused not on things that might happen in the future, but on things that have happened in the past -- things they may have done, situations they wish had gone differently. Worriers wonder if something bad is going to happen, but overthinkers are certain that something bad has already happened. After a while, they are convinced that they are stuck in a mediocre job, that their marriage is failing, or that their friends don't really like them.

The causes of overthinking are complex. One theory is that our brains are made up of interconnected networks of memories and feelings, and one negative thought sets off a chain reaction. Other research suggests that it is a by-product of our stress-fraught, competitive society. We have so many choices, but how do we decide what's best for us?

In previous generations, women were guided by their parents, their religion, and by society's norms. Today we can choose which profession to pursue, whether and whom to marry, and whether or not to have children, and when. But was each a good choice? Success has become a moving target. We get a promotion only to read an article about a college dropout who started his own company and reaped billions, or a study that says kids suffer when parents work long hours. And so we brood.

What's interesting is that overthinking is a syndrome of only the young and middle-aged. In a study I conducted of 1,300 adults, 73 percent of the 25- to 35-year-olds and 52 percent of those 45 to 55 years old could be classified as overthinkers.

Yet adults over 65 had a lot of trouble understanding what I was describing. Despite having confronted all sorts of hardships over the decades -- illness, job demands, sending children to war, losing spouses -- most of these adults looked puzzled when asked if they ever found themselves thinking for long periods of time about how sad or anxious they felt. "Well, not very often," was the typical response. "That wouldn't be a helpful thing to do, would it?" Rather than getting trapped in overthinking, older adults had used their values and faith to cope with what life had dealt them.
